The IPA announces new partnership with Channel 4

The IPA is thrilled to announce its new partnership with Channel 4, a UK free-to-air public service broadcaster and the UK’s biggest free streaming service.

And it all starts with the biggest event on the pool calendar – the IPA World Championships, the event every player wants on their c.v., which will see all six days of this prestigious tournament streamed live via the Channel 4 Sport YouTube channel.

So wherever you are, you will be able to watch the finest players in the world go head to head, to see who takes home the most coveted title the sport has to offer.

And there is more great news!

The IPA Tour seasons will kick off in Newcastle in March, with coverage again provided via the digital offerings from Channel 4 – but more exciting details of that to follow in the coming weeks.

IPA Chairman Kevin Barton said “We have been speaking with Channel 4 since pre covid and it’s finally great news for all pool fans around the world, that we have finally reached agreement to show the IPA World Championships on the Channel 4 Sports YouTube channel. This is a superb opportunity for the IPA and its fantastic players to showcase their incredible skills to this huge new audience – they are in for a treat, with our dynamic and entertaining playing formats that are sure to keep everyone glued to the edge of their seats throughout the event”

Channel 4 Head of Sport Peter Andrews added “This is super exciting for us here at Channel 4. Pool is a hugely popular sport played all around the world and the professional game is a brilliant watch and deserves a wider audience. That’s why we are showing the IPA World Championships on our popular YouTube channel and I’m sure audiences old and new will love what they see”

The IPA World Championships take place at the Coventry Hilton Doubletree Hotel from the 31st January – 5th February 2023
