The IPA is the officially recognised body for Professional pool, by the World Pool Association (WPA), which in turn is part of the IOC structure.
It has been in existence for over 20 years but has never realised its potential, but over the last few years the IPA has been growing, reaching new audiences, with its version of fast, attacking and exciting style of pool – blackball.
Pool – a sport played by millions in the UK alone, was the sleeping giant of sports but no more. It has been awoken and is starting to deliver…
Over the last few years, the IPA has introduced all of the following:
- Aramith Pro Cup balls
- Strachan 861 Blue cloth
- Unrivalled live streaming, including the introduction of stats
- World Championships – the biggest event on the pool calendar
- Unprecedented live tv coverage on Freesports
- BBC Sport coverage – a first for the sport
- World Series events played overseas such as South Africa, Gibraltar, Malta, Morocco plus many more
- The IPA arena with built in tv screens
- The 30 second shot clock as the ‘norm’
- Biggest entry at any Tour event was 244 at Coventry 2018
- ….and much more…….
