2024 World Championships

The dates are now set for the most prestigious title in pool – the IPA World Championships – the event every players wants on their cv.

And what a way to start the season with a top prize of a whopping £15,000!

The IPA World Championships are designed to find the best player in the World – its as simple as that. If you want to test yourself against the best, this is the place to do it. Long races, big prize money – can you handle the heat in front of a live, televised audience?
There are plenty of competitions taking place which are all open to anyone, which makes it the must attend event of the year. The schedule is designed so that there are no clashes of events, which means you can enter all the events you are eligible to enter.

Venue: Grand Hotel, Gosforth, Newcastle
Dates:  20th – 25th February 2024
Closing Date for entry – 31st January 2024

Entry Fees:
Open – Pro £190, Amateur £100
Doubles – £120 per pair (Max 1 Pro – both players must be from same Country)
Seniors – £80 (Age 40+)
Ladies – £70
Masters – £70 (Age 50+)
Mixed Doubles – £60 per pair

Entry is via the IPA shop

Formats
Open – Best of 5 sets, each set the best of 7 frames
Final – Best of 7 sets, each set best of 7 frames (Split session)

Doubles – best of 12 (if 6-6, Blackball shootout)
Ladies – best of 3 sets, each set best of 7
Seniors – best of 15
Masters – best of 13
Mixed Doubles – best of 11

Monday 19th Feb – Set up, Flyers/Practice
Tuesday 20th Feb – Open singles (non seeds)
Wednesday 21st Feb – Open singles, Doubles, Seniors
Thursday 22nd Feb – Open singles (inc seeds), Doubles, Seniors, Ladies
Friday 23rd Feb – Open singles (inc seeds), Doubles, Seniors, Ladies, Masters, Mixed
Saturday 24th Feb –Semis & Final of Open & Ladies, Doubles, Masters, Mixed
Sunday 25th Feb – Semis & Final, Seniors, Doubles, Masters, Mixed

Room rates:
Twin/Double – £46pppn (inc breakfast)
Single – £76pppn (inc breakfast)

All accommodation to be booked via the IPA shop
All players must stay at the venue hotel. We expect to have enough accommodation available for all players. Any player who does not book through the IPA will be removed from the tournament. Players who live close to the venue do not have to stay at the hotel.

Dress Code
Open singles/Ladies – smart short sleeved collared polo tops
Doubles – matching (colour) smart collared polo t shirts
Seniors/Mixed/Masters – smart polo
