Bradford Professional Grand Prix

The hotly anticipated conclusion of the IPA Professional Grand Prix takes place on Wednesday October 10th, with the final stages being held at Bradford University.

The mouth watering prospect of the ‘Dream Final’ between two of the greatest 8 ball players of all time, the 3 time World Champion and Number 1 seed Gareth Potts, and 2 time World Champion Mick Hill, is very much on the cards, with both players showing imperious form as they eased their way to the quarter final stages, dropping a mere 4 and 7 frames respectively, with Hill having played one game more.

However, there are 6 others from the World’s elite, who might just have something to say about that, including IPA Masters Champion Lee Clough, and former European Champion Gareth Hibbott., with Clough boasting a recent victory over Hill at the Players Championship held at The Hilton Gatwick. Add his victory over Potts on route to winning the IPA Masters, and The Tower must surely be considered one of the favourites to land the title.

The standard of competition within the Professional ranks is such that not one of the quarter finalists should easily be discounted from calculations, even part time player and current IPA Chairman Kev Barton, who included a victory over 2010 World Champion Adam Davis on his way to the quarters, could have a shout based on that form!

Potts’ first opponent Craig Marsh, the Welsh potting machine, has  had to come through a tough part of the draw, beating IPA Number 2 Tom Cousins (8-6) and 2 time World Champion Jason Twist (8-7) to earn a match up with the bookies favourite.

Ian Hubbard and Craig Waddingham, two of the IPA’s consistent performers, had even closer matches in order to get to the final stages, winning both their last 32 and last 16 matches in deciding frame shootouts so they will certainly be up for the battle and all in all, we can be assured of quality action, form start to finish.

It promises to be an action packed day of top class 8 ball pool, which you can sit back and watch live and exclusively on , from 12pm on Wednesday the 10th October, played all the way through to a finish, but who will be the victor……?
